Ring Endowment Established at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital To Fund Community Health and Well-Being

The Trish Ring Endowment for Child Health and Well-Being has been established with a $2 million dollar gift from Trish and Carl Ring. This donation is a transformative investment that will support Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital’s efforts in the community

“Trish Ring has long been an advocate for children, particularly with the issues of mental health and health equity.  Dr. Ring has been involved for many years with children’s education and mental health issues,” said Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital President and CEO Meri Armour. “Her interest in community health and well-being for children is consistent with her years of professional work, as well as her years of advocacy for all children.”

For nearly 40 years, Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital has reached outside the walls of the hospital to address barriers that hold children back from thriving.  Many of the issues that bring children to the hospital are preventable.

“We are honored to be a part of the community-wide work that Le Bonheur is doing,” said Dr. Trish Ring. “I’ve worked with the hospital leadership for years, and I know that these professionals are committed to the well-being of children and families in our city and beyond.  The superb work at Le Bonheur has a far-reaching, incredibly positive impact.”

Le Bonheur’s vision is to address the needs of all children in our community, particularly those at risk through preventative community strategies, investments and partnerships.

Le Bonheur established and implemented strategies to bring real, sustainable and systemic change to the community by meeting children’s deepest needs.

Innovative preventative care has not historically been viewed as a part of traditional medical care.  Despite funding challenges, Le Bonheur has invested in these interventions. The Trish Ring Endowment will ensure that the hospital will continue to build these programs and provide the services to secure a healthy future for children.

Le Bonheur is building a $100 million endowment to secure the hospital’s future for generations to come. For more information, contact the Le Bonheur Foundation at 901-287-6308.
